Privacy Policy

In short: Nautilo collects no data, on iPhone, iPad and Android alike.
  • No account, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
  • First names, avatars, starfish, progress and settings stay on the device.
  • Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your payment details.
  • No third-party SDK or service: the app only talks to your device’s store, for the purchase.

1. Who we are

The Nautilo app and this website are published by Helby Studio, a French simplified joint-stock company (SASU) registered in Paris under number 928 684 323, 61 rue de Lyon, 75012 Paris, France. Helby Studio is the controller of the processing described below.

This policy covers the app on iPhone and iPad (downloaded from the App Store), the app on Android (downloaded from Google Play) and this website. Rules that only apply to one store are marked as such.

Questions about your data: hello@helby.studio.

2. A game made for children

Nautilo is designed for children aged 3 to 8, together with their parents. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no social media links, and does not use the device’s advertising identifier (neither Apple’s IDFA nor Google’s advertising ID). The grown-ups’ area, purchases and every external link are protected by a check that young children cannot solve.

3. Data that stays on the device

Optional first names and avatars, starfish, level progress and settings (songs, volumes, vibrations, break reminder) are stored only on the iPhone, iPad or Android device. They are never sent to Helby Studio or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them permanently. Parents can also reset profiles from the grown-ups’ area.

If you have turned on your device’s backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android), this data may be included, like that of your other apps. That backup is run by Apple or Google, in your account and under your settings; Helby Studio has no access to it.

4. Purchases

The Whole Cove in-app purchase is sold and charged by the store you downloaded the app from. Helby Studio never has access to your payment details.

On iPhone and iPad (App Store)

Payment and billing are handled by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy. Helby Studio never has access to your Apple Account. The app checks the purchase directly with the App Store, on the device, through Apple’s purchase system.

On Android (Google Play)

Payment and billing are handled by Google under Google’s own privacy policy. The app checks the purchase on the device, through Google Play’s billing system, which goes through the device’s Play Store app.

The app sends no purchase data to Helby Studio or any other service. Like every publisher, Helby Studio receives sales reports from Apple and Google (for example date, product, price, country and order number), which it only uses for its accounts and, where needed, to handle a refund request you send us.

5. No data collected

The app collects no data and embeds no third-party SDK. It never connects to Helby Studio or any other service: only the purchase and its restoration go through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Songs and pictures are bundled in the app and work offline. So no data is ever sold, rented or shared.

On Android, the app does not even ask for Internet access. It only uses the permission to vibrate (for the game’s haptic feedback) and Google Play’s billing permission (for the purchase). On no device does it access location, the microphone, the camera, contacts or photos.

Reading the explanations aloud uses the device’s own text-to-speech (Apple’s on iPhone and iPad, the text-to-speech engine installed on Android); the text read is the app’s own.

If you allowed it in your device settings, Apple or Google may provide developers with crash reports and aggregated technical statistics. They contain no game data and are only used to fix problems.

6. If you write to us

When you email hello@helby.studio, we use your email address and your message only to answer you, based on our legitimate interest in handling your requests. We keep them as long as your request needs following up, and at most three years after our last exchange. There is no need to tell us anything about your child.

7. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. Our hosting provider (Railway Corporation) may keep technical logs (IP address, date, requested page, browser) for security and reliability, for a limited time. The playable demo runs entirely in your browser and stores nothing.

To show you the right version of the app, the website recognises your type of device (iPhone, iPad, Android or computer) from the information your browser already sends. This happens in your browser: nothing is sent or recorded. If you pick another device yourself, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) and never leaves your device; it is erased with the site’s data.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object and port your data. As Helby Studio holds no data that identifies you (apart from any messages you send us), most of these rights are exercised directly on the device (resetting profiles or deleting the app). For any question, email hello@helby.studio; we answer within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
